No code? Your money comes back.

People say OTP number for a phone number that only has to receive a one-time password. In the SMS For U app you pick the service and a country, enter the number at the service and read the OTP on your screen. The number is reserved for you and goes back into circulation afterwards.

How to get your OTP

  1. Install SMS For U from the App Store on iPhone or from Google Play on Android.
  2. Search for the service that asks for your number.
  3. Pick a country the app lists for that service right now, and confirm.
  4. Enter the number at the service and ask for the code.
  5. The OTP appears in the app on its own. Copy it across.

What an OTP number does, and what it does not

It receives the text message with the one-time password. It does not make calls, it cannot reply, and you do not keep it for later logins.

Private, not a public list

Free number lists show every message to everyone who opens the page, so your code can be read and used by someone else. Our number is reserved for you alone while you wait for the code.

When a service refuses the number

Some services refuse whole number ranges before they send anything. Then another try with the same country usually fails too. Cancel, and pick another country.

Where it does not fit

Banks, wallets and payment apps: our terms rule them out in every country. Accounts you must keep for years belong on your own number, because the service may ask for the same number again.

Common questions

What is an OTP number?

A phone number used only to receive a one-time password. You enter it at the service, the OTP arrives, and the number has done its job.

Is a free OTP number safe?

Public numbers show your code to anyone on the page, and most big services refuse them. For anything that matters, use a number only you can read.

What if no OTP arrives?

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. Cancel it in the app and try another country.

Can I get an OTP number for WhatsApp or Telegram?

Yes, pick the service in the app. WhatsApp checks numbers strictly and Telegram may show the code in an app where you are already signed in.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order: a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded, and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
