Short answers about how SMS For U works. Prices and which countries are free for a given service both change through the day, so they live in the app and not on this page. If something is missing, write to robin@smsforu.app.

What is a virtual number for SMS verification?

A real phone number, rented briefly, that receives a verification code for you. You enter the number at a service, the service sends its SMS, and the code appears in your SMS For U account. You never get a SIM card, and the number is not permanently yours.

What does it cost?

The app shows the price before you confirm, per number. It differs by service and by country and it moves with the catalogue, which is why this page does not print a figure that would be wrong by the time you read it. There is no subscription and nothing is billed per minute or per month.

How fast does the code arrive?

It appears in your account within seconds of the service sending it. How long the service itself takes is up to the service and the country, not only to us — which is why nothing here is worded as a promise.

What happens if no code arrives?

You do not pay for it. Cancel the order and the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While that is being checked the amount stays reserved rather than spent, so a failed attempt never quietly turns into a charge.

Do you promise that every code arrives?

No. No number reaches every service every time: services change which ranges of numbers they accept, and ranges are reused. Anyone advertising a perfect record is not describing this market. What we do promise is the other half — a number that brought no code costs you nothing.

Which countries can I choose from?

We serve fifty markets across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa, and every country page lists them. Which of them can be picked for a given service at a given moment is shown in the app, because that list changes through the day.

Can I keep the number?

No. These numbers are meant for a one-off confirmation. A used number is not reserved for you indefinitely, so an account you need access to for years should not depend on one.

Can I get a second code on the same number?

Sometimes. If the number has already received one code, you can ask for another SMS on it. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives. You see what it costs before you confirm.

Which services can I use this for?

Messengers, social networks, marketplaces, mail providers, ride and delivery apps, streaming and gaming accounts — over a thousand of them. The ones with a page of their own describe what the service wants a number for and when it asks.

Which services are excluded?

Banks, payment services, wallets, crypto exchanges, gambling and betting. We do not sell numbers for those, we do not list them and we build no pages for them. That is a contractual and legal boundary, not a stock problem.

Is this legal?

Renting a number to receive your own verification code is an ordinary service. What matters is what you do with it: impersonating somebody, getting around a ban or opening accounts in other people’s names breaks the terms of the service you are signing up to — and ours.

Do I need an app?

No. The web app at smsforu.app runs in the browser. There are apps for iOS and Android as well; one account works the same everywhere.
