Free SMS numbers and why they fail.

A public inbox shows your code to everyone. Yours should not.

No code? Your money comes back.

Search for a free number to receive a verification code and you find dozens of sites with public inboxes. The numbers are real and cost nothing. For WhatsApp, Telegram, Google or any service that cares about fake accounts they fail most of the time, and the reasons are structural rather than bad luck.

What we do differently

  1. The number is reserved for you alone. Nobody else sees what arrives on it.
  2. It is not posted on a public page for everyone to try.
  3. If no code arrives, you are not charged.

The inbox is public, so your code is public

A free number site shows every message to everyone who opens the page, next to the name of the service that sent it. Anyone watching can finish the sign-up you started, or reset the account later.

The number was used long before you

Most services allow one account per number. A public number that has been online for months is already registered at the popular services, so the answer is “this number is already in use”.

The ranges are blocked

The numbers behind free inbox sites are well known. The large messengers and platforms refuse to send to them, so you wait and nothing arrives.

When a free number is fine

A forum you will never return to, a newsletter, a quick test of your own app. Anything where losing the account costs you nothing.

Common questions

Is SMS For U free?

No, and we do not pretend to be. You pay per number, you see the price before you confirm, and a number that brings no code costs you nothing.

Why do free numbers not work for WhatsApp?

WhatsApp checks numbers closely, and the ranges behind public inboxes are among the first it refuses. Even when a message gets through, the number is usually registered already.

Are free SMS numbers illegal?

Using a public inbox is not illegal in itself. But everything that lands in it is readable by everyone, including codes that belong to other people’s accounts.

Is a paid number certain to work?

No. Nobody can promise that a service accepts a given number. That is why a number that brings no code is not charged.

Can I look around before paying?

Yes. The web app shows services, countries and prices without asking you to pay. Only a number costs anything.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
