Wolt, Glovo, Deliveroo: phone checks and missing codes.

A delivery app needs to reach you at the door. That shapes everything about the number you give it.

No code? Your money comes back.

Wolt, Glovo and Deliveroo all ask for your phone number at sign-up and confirm it with an SMS code, and each ties one number to one account. Wolt says a code can take up to 10 minutes. Glovo sends you to support chat after three failed attempts. Once an order is on its way, the courier may need to call you, so the number should be one you answer.

Why delivery apps verify your phone

Food is delivered to a door, and the person at that door has to be reachable. A verified number also makes it harder to open account after account, and all three link one number to one account.

Code not arriving: what to check (by app)

What its help saysWhat to do
WoltA code can take up to 10 minutes to arriveWait it out, and update the app if logins keep failing
GlovoAfter 3 failed verification attempts, use "Contact support"The chat can also change the number on your account
DeliverooIts FAQ does not cover missing codesCheck the number and signal, then contact Deliveroo support in the app
  1. Check the number Country code selected correctly, national 0 dropped, every digit right.
  2. Wait before resending Especially on Wolt. A second request can replace the first code.
  3. Check reception and filters Weak signal and spam filters for unknown senders swallow codes.
  4. Contact support If you have lost the number on your account, support is the only way to move the account to a new one.

Who sees your number: couriers and restaurants

Your number during an order
GlovoOnce a courier accepts your order, you and the courier have each other's numbers
DeliverooRiders get only the limited customer information needed for the delivery
Food safety reports (Deliveroo)Your contact details reach the restaurant only if you agree
  • Use delivery notes for door codes and directions, so the courier does not need to call.
  • Answer during the delivery window. A missed call can mean a failed delivery.
  • Nobody delivering food needs a code from you. A courier asking you to read out an SMS is not part of any delivery.

Which number to use

For an account you order from, use a number you keep and answer. A temporary number closes after one code, so a courier could never reach it.

Common questions

How long does the Wolt verification code take?

Wolt says it can sometimes take up to 10 minutes. Wait before you request another.

What if I fail Glovo verification three times?

Tap "Contact support" to open a chat with Glovo customer service. They can also change the phone number on your account.

How do I change my phone number on Glovo?

In your profile. Glovo sends a verification code to the new number, and the change applies once you confirm it. If the code does not come, contact support from the help section.

Can the courier see my phone number?

On Glovo, you and the courier have each other's numbers once the courier accepts. Deliveroo says riders only get the limited information needed to deliver.

Can one number have two accounts on these apps?

No. Wolt, Glovo and Deliveroo each tie one number to one account.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
