No code? Your money comes back.

There is a phone-number wall in front of Deliveroo, and this is the way through it. No code, no charge: a number that brings none is never billed. Rent one for the moment you need it: choose where it should come from, type it into Deliveroo, and read the Deliveroo code straight out of your SMS For U account. Behind that sit 1,400 services and numbers bought in markets on four continents.

How you get your code

  1. Open SMS For U and search for Deliveroo.
  2. Pick a country from the list the app shows for Deliveroo right now — that list is Deliveroo's own.
  3. Confirm, and the number for Deliveroo is yours straight away.
  4. Enter it at Deliveroo — the phone number screen at sign-up — and ask Deliveroo for the code.
  5. The Deliveroo code appears in SMS For U on its own. Copy it back into Deliveroo.

Why a phone number is asked for

Deliveroo uses the number to reach you about the order that is on its way, and to keep one account per person. Deliveroo asks for it on the sign-up form, before the account exists at all. The number goes in at: the phone number screen at sign-up. Deliveroo normally asks for the number once and does not come back to it afterwards.

What the code looks like

Deliveroo sends a short numeric code by SMS. The Deliveroo code shows up in your SMS For U account on its own, within seconds of Deliveroo sending it — nothing to refresh and nothing to forward. Deliveroo expires its codes quickly — type it in while it is fresh. One number normally carries one Deliveroo account.

What can go wrong

Deliveroo accepts numbers from many countries but not from all of them. Which countries work for Deliveroo changes over time, because Deliveroo adjusts its checks and because the available ranges of numbers change. That is the honest state of it — we can hand you a number, we cannot make Deliveroo take it. Nothing here commits Deliveroo to an outcome, and no hit rate is on display — a published figure would be wrong long before you read it.

Countries we serve

Below are the 50 markets we hold numbers in, Deliveroo included. Treat them as our footprint rather than as today’s shelf: ranges run dry and are topped up again while you read this, so a market listed here may be unavailable for Deliveroo within the hour. The country screen in the app is where that question is answered honestly for Deliveroo, because it is the only thing that updates as fast as the ranges do.

Common questions

How do I get a Deliveroo verification code without my own SIM card?

Open SMS For U, search for Deliveroo and pick a country. You get a real phone number, you enter it at Deliveroo (the phone number screen at sign-up), and the code Deliveroo sends appears in your SMS For U account by itself. No SIM card is involved, and the Deliveroo number is not yours to keep.

How fast does the Deliveroo code arrive?

The Deliveroo code appears in your account within seconds of Deliveroo sending it. How long Deliveroo itself takes is up to Deliveroo and to the country the number comes from, which is why nothing here is worded as a promise.

What happens if no Deliveroo code arrives?

You do not pay for a Deliveroo number that brought no code. Cancel the order in the app and the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. That is the whole rule, and it is why a failed Deliveroo attempt costs nothing: no code, no charge.

Which countries can I use for Deliveroo?

Deliveroo numbers come from the 50 markets listed on this page. Which of them can be picked for Deliveroo at this moment is on the country screen in the app: that list moves through the day, and a page in a search index cannot keep up with it.

Can I use the same number for Deliveroo again later?

A used Deliveroo number is not reserved for you indefinitely. Deliveroo normally does not come back to it after sign-up, but if you need lasting access to the Deliveroo account, use a number of your own.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
