AliExpress verification code not arriving?

AliExpress accepts most numbers. When the code is missing, the cause is usually on the way.

No code? Your money comes back.

AliExpress sends a verification code by SMS when you sign up with a phone number, or when you add one later under Settings → Phone number. If the AliExpress verification code is not arriving, check the country code, your phone's message filters and how often you requested it. Signing up with an e-mail address instead avoids the text entirely.

Where AliExpress sends the code

The code goes wherever you asked AliExpress to send it: by SMS to the number you typed, or to your inbox if you chose e-mail. A number added later in the settings is confirmed the same way, with a text.

AliExpress not sending the verification code: what to check

  1. Check the country code If the form pre-selects a country, make sure it matches your SIM, not the country you are shopping from.
  2. Drop the leading 0 With the country code selected, enter the number without the domestic 0 in front.
  3. Look in filtered messages Phones often move texts from unknown or international senders into a separate folder.
  4. Request once, then wait Give the first text a minute or two. Repeated requests can be slowed down or blocked for a while.
  5. Check signal and roaming A text needs mobile reception on that SIM. Abroad, roaming has to be on.

  • E-mail code missing? Search your inbox for AliExpress, then check spam and promotions.
  • Typo in the address: one wrong letter sends the code nowhere; go back and check it.
  • Full mailbox: free up space, then request one new code.

Whichever you choose, keep both a working e-mail and a reachable number on the account if you can. Order updates and password resets then have two ways to find you.

If you would rather not give your own number

According to our fact sheet, AliExpress is relaxed about virtual number ranges and rarely asks for the number again once it is confirmed. A temporary number can therefore receive the sign-up code. Add your e-mail straight afterwards, because the number closes after the code.

Common questions

Why is AliExpress not sending my verification code?

Common causes: a wrong country code or an extra leading 0, a text sorted into filtered messages, or too many requests in a short time.

Can I sign up for AliExpress without a phone number?

If the sign-up form offers an e-mail option, yes. You can add a number later under Settings → Phone number.

Where do I change my AliExpress phone number?

Under Settings → Phone number. AliExpress confirms the new number with a text code.

Does AliExpress accept virtual numbers?

Usually, according to our own fact sheet. The app shows the success rate for each country before you pay.

I got an AliExpress code I did not ask for. What now?

Someone entered your number or address on AliExpress. Ignore the message and never pass the code on; if it is your account, change the password.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
