A free number for WhatsApp? Here is why it fails.

Free numbers are shared numbers. WhatsApp knows it, and so do strangers.

No code? Your money comes back.

A free virtual number for WhatsApp is almost always a public number listed on a website, with every incoming text shown on an open page. WhatsApp refuses most of them, and when a code does arrive, anyone reading the page can use the same number later to take your account over. A private number costs a little, and you pay nothing if no code comes.

What a free virtual number for WhatsApp usually is

  • A public inbox website. A list of numbers in a few countries; click one and you see all texts it has received, from everyone.
  • A calling app's free number. It rings and texts, but WhatsApp lists VoIP numbers among the types it does not support.
  • A trial or promotion number. It expires, and with it your way back into WhatsApp.

Searches like número virtual grátis para WhatsApp lead to the first kind almost every time.

More about WhatsApp numbers

The real risk: anyone can re-register your account

WhatsApp identifies an account by its number. If that number's texts are public, a stranger can type it into WhatsApp tomorrow, read the new code from the same web page, and the account moves to their phone with your name and photo on it.

What a private number costs, and when you pay nothing

Price shown before you pay
It depends on the country and changes with supply, so the app shows the exact amount live in your currency.
Only you see the code
The number is reserved for your order. Nothing is published.
No code, no charge
If the text never comes, the order ends and your money comes back.
Another number for free
Silent after about two minutes? Switch to a fresh number for the same country at no extra cost.

Steps with a private number

  1. Open the web app and pick WhatsApp No sign-up. The countries are listed with their success rates.
  2. Pick the country with the best rate For WhatsApp the rate matters more than the price difference.
  3. Paste the number into WhatsApp Choose the country in WhatsApp's list and type the rest. Wait for the text; the number cannot take the call.
  4. Secure it at once Turn on two-step verification with a password and an email before you close the app.

Common questions

Is there a free virtual number that works with WhatsApp?

Not reliably. Free numbers are shared and public, WhatsApp refuses many of them, and a code that does arrive is visible to everyone.

Can someone steal my WhatsApp if I used a free number?

Yes. Anyone can request a new code to the same number and read it on the same public page. Move the account to a private number.

How much does a private WhatsApp number cost?

It depends on the country, so the price is shown live in the app before you pay. If no code arrives, you get the money back.

Is a private number permanent?

No. It receives one code within ten minutes. For an account you keep for years, plan to move it to a number you own.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
