Which number for WhatsApp Business?

Customers save it, print it and come back to it. Pick one that stays.

No code? Your money comes back.

WhatsApp Business needs its own phone number, separate from any personal WhatsApp account, and one that can receive an SMS or a call when WhatsApp verifies it. For a business the best choice is a number that will still be yours in years: a separate mobile SIM or eSIM, or your existing landline. A one-time number can register the app, but it is the wrong foundation for a number customers rely on.

What WhatsApp Business needs from a number

WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business each need a different number.
Able to get the code
By SMS, or by call for landlines. Call blocking must be off during registration.
A supported type
Mobile numbers and, in Business only, landlines. VoIP, toll-free and premium numbers are not supported.
Reachable again later

We do not sell permanent numbers. Our numbers receive one code and then close.

Why a one-time number is risky for a business

  • Customers save the number. If the account has to move, every saved contact and printed card points to the old one.
  • WhatsApp verifies again on a new phone. With the number gone, so is your way back into the account and its chat history.
  • Staff changes mean new devices, and every new device is a moment the number has to work.
  • Reviews and trust build on a number people recognise over time.

Where a one-time number does fit: a test account to try the Business features before you commit, or a short campaign you will close afterwards.

If you choose the landline

A landline works only in WhatsApp Business, and the app still runs on a smartphone. The landline just has to answer an automated call with the six-digit code once the SMS timer runs out, now and every time WhatsApp verifies the number again.

Common questions

Can I use the same number for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business?

No. Each app needs its own number, so a business number cannot also run your personal WhatsApp.

Can I use a virtual number for WhatsApp Business?

Only if WhatsApp accepts it. It does not support VoIP numbers, and a temporary number lasts minutes, not years.

Can WhatsApp Business use a landline?

Yes. Business is the only WhatsApp app that accepts landlines, verified by a call.

What is the best number for a small business?

One you will keep: a separate SIM or eSIM, or the landline customers already call.

What happens to my business account if I change phones?

WhatsApp sends a new code to the registered number, by SMS or, for a landline, by call. Turn on two-step verification with an email first, and keep a chat backup so history moves with you.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
