OTP not arriving: what to check
Shopee's own help names two causes: trouble on the network, and an account that is linked to a different phone number than the one you are watching. If neither fits, you may have hit its maximum request limit.
- Compare the number On an existing account, check the profile: the OTP goes to the number saved there, not to the phone in your hand.
- Reset the connection Shopee suggests restarting the phone, switching flight mode on and off, and on dual-SIM phones trying the other default carrier.
- Stop resending Each extra request counts toward the limit. Leave it for a while before you ask again.
- Try another number Shopee's help suggests a number that is on no Shopee account and with a different carrier.
- Ask Shopee In the app, Me → Chat with Shopee. Have your username, the time of the attempt, your phone model and your carrier ready.
Signing up with a number from another country
Each Shopee and Lazada market runs its own shop with its own sign-up. If you live abroad but want to order in one of them, a number from that market is the natural match, for example from Indonesia or the Philippines.
- Choose the country in the app by its success rate for the shop, not by habit.
- Have the sign-up screen open before you take the number, so the ten minutes go to the code.
