No code? Your money comes back.

Gojek sends a 4-digit OTP by SMS or WhatsApp, and sometimes an SMS with a login link instead. If nothing arrives, check that the number is the one registered to your account, wait at least 30 seconds, then tap Resend OTP or switch between SMS and WhatsApp. A login link works only on the device that asked for it, and only for 5 minutes.

How Gojek verifies your number

More about Gojek numbers

OTP not arriving: what to check

  1. Is it the registered number? The OTP goes to the number on your Gojek account, not to the phone you are holding.
  2. Wait at least 30 seconds Then tap Resend OTP, or switch from SMS to WhatsApp or the other way round.
  3. Check signal and blocks Make sure you have reception and have not asked your provider to block incoming SMS.
  4. Update the app An old version of Gojek can be the cause. If that does not help, clear the app's cache.
  5. Try again later Your provider may have a temporary fault. "Way too often" means you made too many requests: wait before trying again.

Why Gojek asks again

Gojek confirms logins through your registered number: a new login, on a new phone or after logging out, needs an OTP, a link or a SIM check. Only a device Gojek already trusts can skip that, with One Tap, or with fingerprint or Face ID if you turned it on.

  • Verify your e-mail after logging in, as Gojek recommends, so the account has a second contact.
  • For an account you will keep, use a number you keep. A temporary number is closed after one code and cannot receive the next OTP.
  • Never share an OTP or a login link, not even with someone claiming to be from Gojek. Gojek says it never asks for them.

What is excluded: wallet features

GoPay is a wallet, and wallets and payment services are excluded here in every country. Gojek asks you to set a GoPay PIN after logging in; that PIN and anything that moves money belong on a number that stays yours.

If you need an Indonesian number for the ride and food side of Gojek, the web app shows whether there are numbers for it right now. For Southeast Asia's other big ride app, see the Grab service page.

Common questions

How many digits is the Gojek OTP?

Four. You can receive it by SMS or by WhatsApp on the same number.

Why does my Gojek login link not work?

It only opens on the device that requested it and expires after 5 minutes. Request a new link once the timer runs out, or ask for the 4-digit code instead.

What does "Way too often" mean in Gojek?

You requested codes or links too many times in a short period. Wait a while before trying again.

Will Gojek ever ask me for my OTP?

No. Gojek says it never asks for your OTP under any circumstances. Anyone who does is trying to take over your account.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
