Badoo phone verification: step by step, and private.

Badoo has no passwords. That makes the number you verify matter more than you think.

No code? Your money comes back.

Badoo verifies your phone with a code by SMS or with an automated call, where you type the last six digits of the number that rang. It asks at sign-up, when you log in with your number, and now and then as a security check. Because Badoo has no passwords, an account signed up by phone keeps needing that number to log in.

Why Badoo verifies your phone

The check links a number to your profile and shows Badoo that a person, not a bot or a fake account, is behind it. You meet it at sign-up, every time you log in with your number, and occasionally as a routine security check.

Logging in later: why the sign-up method matters

To log in later you need
Phone numberA code sent to that same number
E-mailAccess to that inbox
Google, Apple or FacebookThat account

Badoo offers Facebook in the app only and Apple on iOS only. A passkey on your device can replace the code once set up.

If you verify with a number you will not keep, sign up with e-mail, Google or Apple instead, or link one of them before the number is gone. Otherwise the next login sends its code to a number nobody can read.

Your number and other members

  • Blocking needs no number. Badoo blocks happen in the app, never by name, phone number or contact list, so nobody has to know your number to block you or be blocked.
  • Voice and video calls in the app let you talk to a match without either of you giving out a number.
  • Badoo does not call people. Apart from the automated verification call, a caller claiming to be Badoo is not.
  • Never pass on a code. Anyone asking for one is trying to get into your account.

Common questions

How do I verify my phone number on Badoo?

Enter it with the country code, choose SMS or call, and either type the SMS code or the last six digits of the number that called you.

Why does Badoo say my number is already in use?

The number is linked to another Badoo account, often an old one of yours. Try logging in with it; if you cannot reach that account, Badoo support can help recover it.

Can I use Badoo without a phone number?

You can sign up with e-mail, Google, Facebook in the app or Apple on iOS. Badoo may still ask you to verify a number as a security check.

Does Badoo have a password?

No. You log in with a code or a linked account. Protect the account you sign in with, and your phone number with your mobile provider.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
