No code? Your money comes back.

Spotify wants a phone number, and it does not take no for an answer. No code, no charge: nothing is billed for a number that stays silent. So borrow one — choose a market in SMS For U, give the number to Spotify, and the Spotify code arrives in your account by itself, seconds after Spotify sends it. 1,400 services sit in the same catalogue, with numbers from markets across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.

How you get your code

  1. Look Spotify up in the SMS For U catalogue.
  2. Take a country from the ones the app is offering for Spotify today.
  3. Confirm the order; the Spotify number is live from that second.
  4. Type it in at the sign-up form on Spotify and ask to be sent the code.
  5. The code turns up in your SMS For U account unprompted — copy it into Spotify and you are through.

Why a phone number is asked for

Spotify confirms the sign-up with a phone number and uses the same number later to put the account back in your hands. Spotify asks for it on the sign-up form, before the account exists at all. The number goes in at: the sign-up form. Spotify normally asks for the number once and does not come back to it afterwards.

What the code looks like

Spotify sends a 6-digit code by SMS. The message from Spotify arrives in your account unaided — no refreshing, no forwarding, and no second device involved in reading the Spotify code. Spotify expires its codes quickly — type it in while it is fresh. One number can usually serve more than one Spotify account, although Spotify may limit that.

What can go wrong

Spotify accepts numbers from many countries but not from all of them. Which countries work for Spotify changes over time, because Spotify adjusts its checks and because the available ranges of numbers change. That is the honest state of it — we can hand you a number, we cannot make Spotify take it. Nothing on this page is a promise that Spotify will accept a number, and no success figure is printed here, because any figure would be out of date by the time you read it.

Countries we serve

Below are the 50 markets we hold numbers in, Spotify included. Treat them as our footprint rather than as today’s shelf: ranges run dry and are topped up again while you read this, so a market listed here may be unavailable for Spotify within the hour. The country screen in the app is where that question is answered honestly for Spotify, because it is the only thing that updates as fast as the ranges do.

Common questions

How do I get a Spotify verification code without my own SIM card?

Open SMS For U, search for Spotify and pick a country. You get a real phone number, you enter it at Spotify (the sign-up form), and the code Spotify sends appears in your SMS For U account by itself. No SIM card is involved, and the Spotify number is not yours to keep.

How fast does the Spotify code arrive?

The Spotify code appears in your account within seconds of Spotify sending it. How long Spotify itself takes is up to Spotify and to the country the number comes from, which is why nothing here is worded as a promise.

What happens if no Spotify code arrives?

You do not pay for a Spotify number that brought no code. Cancel the order in the app and the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. That is the whole rule, and it is why a failed Spotify attempt costs nothing: no code, no charge.

Which countries can I use for Spotify?

Spotify numbers come from the 50 markets listed on this page. Which of them can be picked for Spotify at this moment is on the country screen in the app: that list moves through the day, and a page in a search index cannot keep up with it.

Can I use the same number for Spotify again later?

A used Spotify number is not reserved for you indefinitely. Spotify normally does not come back to it after sign-up, but if you need lasting access to the Spotify account, use a number of your own.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
