No code? Your money comes back.

Ifood will not let you finish without a phone number. No code, no charge: you pay nothing for a number that never receives one. SMS For U rents you a real one — pick a market, put the number into Ifood, and the Ifood code lands in your account seconds after Ifood sends it. Ifood is one of 1,400 services in the catalogue, with numbers from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.

How you get your code

  1. Open SMS For U and search for Ifood.
  2. Pick a country from the list the app shows for Ifood right now — that list is Ifood's own.
  3. Confirm, and the number for Ifood is yours straight away.
  4. Enter it at Ifood — the phone-number step during sign-up — and ask Ifood for the code.
  5. The Ifood code appears in SMS For U on its own. Copy it back into Ifood.

Why a phone number is asked for

Ifood is a single login with a lot behind it, so the number is how it proves it is you and how you get back in. Ifood asks for it on the sign-up form, before the account exists at all. The number goes in at: the phone-number step during sign-up. Ifood normally asks for the number once and does not come back to it afterwards.

What the code looks like

Ifood sends a short numeric code by SMS. Whatever Ifood texts to the number is delivered into your SMS For U account automatically, a few seconds behind Ifood, with nothing to forward. A Ifood code is only valid briefly, so enter it promptly. One number can usually serve more than one Ifood account, although Ifood may limit that.

What can go wrong

Ifood accepts numbers from many countries but not from all of them. Which countries work for Ifood changes over time, because Ifood adjusts its checks and because the available ranges of numbers change. That is the honest state of it — we can hand you a number, we cannot make Ifood take it. We do not claim Ifood will take any given number, and we print no percentage, since a number like that would be stale within hours of being written.

Countries we serve

We work in the 50 markets set out below, and an Ifood number can come from any of them at one time or another. That is a map of our reach, not a stock report: what is free for Ifood moves hour by hour as ranges are spent and replenished. Before you count on a particular market for Ifood, look at the country screen in the app, which is the one place this question has a current answer.

Common questions

How do I get an Ifood verification code without my own SIM card?

Open SMS For U, search for Ifood and pick a country. You get a real phone number, you enter it at Ifood (the phone-number step during sign-up), and the code Ifood sends appears in your SMS For U account by itself. No SIM card is involved, and the Ifood number is not yours to keep.

How fast does the Ifood code arrive?

The Ifood code appears in your account within seconds of Ifood sending it. How long Ifood itself takes is up to Ifood and to the country the number comes from, which is why nothing here is worded as a promise.

What happens if no Ifood code arrives?

You do not pay for an Ifood number that brought no code. Cancel the order in the app and the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. That is the whole rule, and it is why a failed Ifood attempt costs nothing: no code, no charge.

Which countries can I use for Ifood?

Ifood numbers come from the 50 markets listed on this page. Which of them can be picked for Ifood at this moment is on the country screen in the app: that list moves through the day, and a page in a search index cannot keep up with it.

Can I use the same number for Ifood again later?

A used Ifood number is not reserved for you indefinitely. Ifood normally does not come back to it after sign-up, but if you need lasting access to the Ifood account, use a number of your own.

No code, no charge

You do not pay for a number that brought no code. If nothing arrives, cancel the order in the app; the payment is refunded as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. While it is being checked, the amount stays reserved rather than spent.

Cancelling is possible after a short wait at the start of an order — a number needs a moment before it can be reached at all, and a cancellation in the first seconds would be refused anyway.

If a number has already received one code and you need a second one, you can ask for another SMS on the same number. That is a separate, chargeable attempt and it is not refunded even if no second code arrives; the app shows what it costs before you confirm. There is no subscription: you pay per number, never per minute and never per month.

What this is not for

Do not use these numbers for banks, payment services, wallets or crypto exchanges. Those are excluded — and an account resting on a number that is not permanently yours is an account you can lose. The same goes for anything you need access to for years: government portals, tax accounts, insurance. A temporary number is for a one-off confirmation, not a lasting key to something important.
